Sports Event Korea is an English-language guide to running and endurance events held in South Korea, together with a registration support service for runners who live outside Korea.
Korea has hundreds of well-organized marathons, half marathons, 10K and 5K races, trail runs and festival runs every year. Most of them are open to international participants, but the official pages are usually written in Korean and the payment systems are built for people living in Korea. We created this site to close that gap.
What We Do
English race guides
We publish guides to Korean races in English. Each guide summarizes the essentials: date and location, distances and entry fees, what is included in the race package, registration period, directions, and practical tips for preparing. Every guide links to the organizer’s official page so you can confirm the details yourself.
Registration support for overseas runners
If you would like help entering a race, we handle the Korean-language registration for you and let you pay in US dollars. Here is exactly how it works:
- You send a registration request through our support form.
- We reply by email within 3 business days at the latest with your fee and payment instructions. If a race needs information beyond what the form collects, we contact you by email.
- Payment is made by PayPal, which is the only payment method we accept.
- We send a final confirmation email within 5 business days at the latest, including where to collect your race kit, and a screenshot showing your completed registration.
Transparent pricing
The race entry fee is set by the organizer in Korean won. We convert it to US dollars using the Bank of Korea exchange rate on the day you pay. Our agency fee is $15 USD per registration, and PayPal’s service charge of 5.03% is applied to the total amount. Because most registrations are made close to the race date, refunds are generally not available unless the cancellation is the organizer’s responsibility, so please make sure you can attend before you register.
Who We Are
Sports Event Korea is run by a runner and sports event enthusiast based in Korea. Our goal is simple: to make Korea’s running events easy to find, understand and enter for people all over the world. You can read more on the author profile page.
We are an independent guide and registration support service. Unless a guide states otherwise, we are not the official organizer of the events we feature, and race entry fees are paid to the organizers.
How We Keep Our Guides Accurate
- Our guides are based on the information that organizers publish. Dates, fees, courses and registration periods can change, so please always check the official page linked in each guide before you register.
- Races that have already taken place are marked as finished, and we update guides when a new edition is announced.
- If you notice an error or out-of-date information, please tell us on the contact page and we will correct it.
